Product Empties : October 2013

Hi everyone! I missed blogging so I took the chance to blog today because classes were suspended due to the upcoming typhoon HAIYAN/YOLANDA which is said to be stronger than Hurricane Katrina. Before everything, lets all pray and hope for the safety and recovery of the Philippines. By now, we should be ready and prepared to face the calamity together as one nation. I believe that no matter how strong the typhoon is, We Filipinos will always be stronger.

Today I'll be showing you some of the things I have thrown out and had already expired. All waiting to be replaced and dumped in the trash can.

** The duration of the products used doesn't mean its one piece only. Im showing the products im throwing out because I need to repurchase. I do throw out expired products

Maybelline Clear smooth extra shine free powder foundation with SPF 20 PA++
(7.5g)
Shade: Honey
Price: 249.00 pesos
Used for: 4 years and counting
Repurchase: YES.

I use this for every day. I bring this when im travelling, bag/purse for easy touch ups. Its slim design is very convenient and the big mirror is a       plus for me. It comes with a free flat sponge applicator.

The shade of honey best suits the meduim-tan-morena skin tone and they do have 3 more lighter shades. Some say this can also be used with damp sponge but I prefer using this alone to help mattify my T-zone area. This powder has amazing coverage and is very buildable. Always makes me look flawless! Best used with a fluffy powder brush. I love it!

Ever Bilena Studio Foundation Stick (8g)
Shade: The sticker shade peeled of already. But I remember its the shade before the darkest shade.
Price: ?
Used for: 3 years. Repurchase: MAYBE.

I have been using this since HS because it was so popular and raved about. Very affordable! I love this so much because it doubles as a concealer and a foundation. It can be worn alone or better set with powder. (We used baby powder back in HS)

Has medium to heavy coverage. Easy to blend with fingers or sponge. Gives flawless coverage but if you put too much on, it feels heavy on the skin. They have, If I recall, about 4 shades to choose from. I use the darkest shade (no photo because I lost it a year ago) as a contour cream or
I mix it with other foundations to create the perfect shade.

Dickinson's Original with Witch Hazel Poer prefecting toner.

Alcohol free for Combination skin.
(Travel size only. 59ml)
Price: 79.00 pesos
Repurchase: YES.

After so many toners that I have tried, this is by far the one that best suited me. I found out about this product on Youtube. It clears my skin and gives it a squeaky clean feeling everytime. It did not break me out or cause any negative reactions to my skin. This travel size is hard to find and it doesn't smell as good but it doesn't bother me. Its actually a good thing because Im sure its 100% natural.
I use this with a cotton ball at night before applying my moisturizer.

Celeteque Dermo Science+ Hydration Alcohol Free toner.
(50ml)
Price: 79.00 pesos
Repurchase: YES.

I use this toner as an immediate substitute for the Dickinsons brand. Does the same job, same price, and its easy to find and comes in a small size as well. All in all this is a great product and it doesn't dry my skin. I like this toner too but I'd still go for the dickinsons if I find one.

Rucy's Vanity Whitening Lotion
(100ml)
Price: ?
Used for: 7 months
Repurchase: NO.

I bought this product online out of impulse. However, I did enjoy using it. Feels light on the skin. Not greasy. Smells really good. It did lighten some of my dark skin areas but I need to find something with a stronger effect and can be easily found in the market.

Victoria's Secret So Sexy smoothening Shine Hair Serum
(50ml)
Price: ?
Used for: 1 1/2 years
Repurchase: NO.

This hair product was only given to me (actually my sister left this at home after she moved out. I consider this mine already! MEHEHE! ) I believe it was a package from the US. It smells so good and it gives shine to my hair. Also helps in detangling the hair strands and adding a little volume to the hair. I will not repurchase simply because I cant afford it anymore.

Mary Kay Medium coverage Foundation
(29ml)
Shade: Beige 300
Price: ?
Used for: 1 year
Repurchase: YES.

I got this as a present 2 years ago. The coverage is medium-heavy because it is buildable. Easy to blend and can be mixed with other foundations. Didn't break me out. It feels just right on the skin (not heavy but not light weight). Covers dark circles and pimple marks. A little goes a long way.

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Tummy Butter for Stretchmarks
Price: 595.00 pesos
Used for: 7 months
Repurchase: NO.

I found this on the internet when I was searching for the best stretcmark remover. This product is usually regarded as one of the best. 2 friends actually recomended this to me, So when i found out its already available in watsons I tried it out.

It did feel warm and greasy on the skin and I find it difficult to get some product and to apply it. It moisturized my skin but it dont think it helped solve my problem. I expected too much from this expensive product.

Avon Simply Pretty Clear Mascara
Used for: 1 year
Price: ?
Repurchase: NO.

I always wanted to try clear mascaras because I hated cleaning and removing the black ones from my lashes. I used this way back in HS.
I discovered also that this can double as a brow gel. I stopped using this because when I use it on the lashes, its hard to dry them ( I still think it does not dry at all ) and it never held the curls up.

Liquid Eyeliner Battle-Review

I wanted to write a review about Liquid eyeliners because I'm wasn't really into any eye lining products before. I find that its hard to apply and take off.  It makes me look mataray and old. After trying different products and techniques,  I finally learned how to correctly apply Liquid eyeliner. To be honest, Im still having a hard time perfecting the winged eyeliner and I still don't prefer wearing eyeliners for everyday. You can only see my eyes lined for full coverage makeup, special events and occasions.

So lets start!

*The eyeliners to be used are the only liquid eyeliners I own as of the moment.
*products bought from Landmark and Sm Dept. Stores

1. Ever Bilena Advance HD waterproof liquid eyeliner
- Black

Felt tip applicator

LOVE:
  • I feel more comfortable in using felt tip applicators because they are easier to handle and gives a much straighter line.
  • Affordable (got this on sale and it came with 2 eyeliner pencils)
  • Great pigmentation

HATE:
  • The product dries quickly
  • It flakes off when reapplied on top of first layer
  • Looks like black plastic glued onto the eyes
  • Too shiny
  • Doesn't last long and can be easily rubbed off
NEUTRAL:
  • Takes time to dry ( not to long but not too short time is needed to prevent smudging)
REPURCHASE: NO

2. ELF waterproof eyeliner pen
- Coffee (brown)

Felt tip applicator

LOVE:
  • Comes in many colors
  • Easy to handle and apply

HATE:
  • The felt tip worns out easily (Used mine 3x only but the tip already lost it shape/point)
  • Dispenses unequal amount of product
  • Needs frequent reapplication
  • Poor pigmentation

NEUTRAL:
  • Price; Its Affordable but its not worth it ( I think its around 120-200 pesos)

REPURCHASE: This shade NO. But I might try the other colors, specially the one in TEAL ( MY FAVORITE)

3. SanSan waterproof eyeliner pen with Vitamin A,C and E.
- Black

 Felt tip applicator

I bought this because many people and beauty gurus have recommended it. Its always out of stock so it made me more interested to buy it. Its easy to apply, this pen helped me a lot in lining my eyes.

LOVE:
  • Easy application
  • Does not dry out everytime I use it
  • Very Pigmented
  • Long lasting
  • Does not rub off easily
  • Does not leave dark stains around the eyes after removal
  • Equal distribution of color
  • Affordable (85 pesos)
  • Has the right thickness/thinness of the tip

HATE:
  • NONE.

NEUTRAL:
  • Always out of stock. For me its fine, because I know more people have been buying it.

REPURCHASE: YES!

I think we all know who the obvious winner is.
